Tents
The subject for this evenings net was Tents. We discussed subjects such as Denier,water resistance, UV ratings and weight. Then went on to talk about tent stakes, both commercially available and home made stakes for specialized ground conditions, guy outs, clips and sleeves, tent poles, footprints, seam sealing, demensions and tent care. I used my two different style tents to explore single and double wall applications. We then had an open discussion which primarily centered on questions relating to care and sealing of canvas style tents and people's interest in the older tents which they are still using. I was unaware that there was still an active interest in canvas and Dave (K6DTK), having used them in the past stepped in to answer a number of questions about products still on the market relating to canvas and where to purchase them. The net lasted 1 and a half hours.
