May I post an announcement, of another Ham Radio Net on 146.73 PARC repeater system? The net has to do with Off Roading.

Welcome to OAUSA, Dick :)

You might want to post the day and time for the net as well, so we can check it out

I wanted to be sure that it would be OK, to post information about a different net. I also plan to listen to your net this next week and see if I can check into it, I get a pretty good signal down here in Oceanside.

We would like to invite you off roading Hams to join us on our weekly "off roaders net" 146.73, no PL needed repeater, most of the time, 107.2 is the PL, on Mt. Palomar. This net is on Tuesday night at 9:00pm (2100 hrs). The net is a directed net, but you do not need to be a member of PARC to participate. We talk about anything related to off roading, camping, wheelin, rock hounding, mines, trails, maps, GPS, new trips, trip reports, photos, rigs, equipment, safety, places to get stuff, ham radio mobil use, repeaters, antennas, fixes, repairs. This is non-denominational net (drive what you have). You can check into the net and have nothing to add, just tell the net control. Hope to meet you on the air! July 27, 2010

I had heard in the past about a net of this sort on the Palomar repeater you mention here. I tried to listen for it several times in the past. This was over three or four years ago. Is this the same net I had heard about or a newly started net?

I think I stumbled into this last Tuesday. It was interesting. Kinda short, but hopefully it'll grow.

I used to operate this net, for around 10 years and then the participation dropped to zero and my antenna broke. So anyway it has taken me a few years to put up a new antenna and give the net another try. Last net was short, but it was also the first in 4 years, and the only way to have a long net is to have participation, so come on guys check in.

Rats, I was looking forward to tuning in tonight but I forgot it's at 9PM...might be past my bedtime. Gotta get up @ 4am & hit the road to Loma Linda. Is there a podcast? (hint hint)!
