Kamp rite tent cot

One of the coolest additions to my arsenal to date, I've always loved roof top tents but they take up rack space, a bit heavy and out of my price range, but I was always willing to overlook that for the ease and speed of setup and teardown. Well after basically just writing off the idea as just cant do it,
Enter the Tent cot.
I got it in the mail tonight, it is extremely sturdy, and it took me a whopping 6 seconds to set it up. I got the oversize version, I was gonna get the double but I figure i wanted something smaller for solo trips, I'll probably get a double for me and the wife and the kids could share the oversize on family trips. It even transforms into a lawn char for day time use!! I got the full package on ebay for 240, included the carry bag, clip on gear bag and the rainfly, On most sites they sold all them seperately. I freakin love this thing so much it's still set up in my living room and I'm testing out the comfort level tonight.

I've seen those in the Cabela's catalog for some time now and have been intrigued by the prospect of a more compact tent/cot/chair arrangement.

I have been eyeing these at the Bass Pro Shop. I really like the idea. Let us know how it goes. The only complaint I've heard is that you might need to insulate the the cot because the air blowing underneath can make it chilly in the tent.

I wonder if that clip-on gear bag that goes underneath would provide an adequate wind break for the bottom... it'd sure be a handy place to throw boots while you're sleeping.

As long as the smell doesn't attract the bears and mountain lions.

Yes, this could get cold on a chilly night.

But you may stay dry in the rain being off the ground.

According to this review they are nice and toasty, but there is a thermo mat you could purchase if need be.

I found one of these on Craigslist for $80(used twice they say). Im goignt to pick it up on the way home. I needed something to sleep in for a trip to Calico in March. Ill try to remember to take some pictures.

a group of us went out to Johnson valley last year with a friend who has one of these. before we were able to even get out of our rigs, he was passed out in the tent cot.

I now was lucky enough to get one for Christmas but i haven't used it yet.
