This week's net discusses the GPS componets in the sky and on the ground and a little bit of how it works. We reviewed the 3 components of the GPS – Space, Control and Receivers. We discussed the basic principles and issues that cause errors as well as the WAAS to provide a 5 fold improvement in accuracy. We discussed new systems planned in Europe and Russia and planned upgrades to the USA system for 2013 and 2021.
